I am recruiting two students to start in Fall 2027:

1. The first position is for a self-motivated student with interest in developing their own project examining how disturbance, global change, or management affect the cycling of nitrogen and carbon in terrestrial ecosystems. Interested applicants should send Dr. Krichels (alexander.krichels@uga.edu) 1) a cover letter summarizing your interest in the position, 2) two professional references (contact information only- email preferred), 3) your resume or CV, and 4) a writing sample. Please include “PhD position” in the subject line of your email. Applications will be accepted until November 1, 2026.
2. A second position is available in collaboration with the Savannah River Ecology Lab and the Savannah River National Lab. Preliminary applications are due November 1st, 2026. Due to DOE security clearance requirements, I am only able to recruit students with US Citizenship to this position.
